Regali Natale 2007 e ricamo a punto croce/ Christmas 2007 presents and cross-stitch embroidery
Natale è già passato da un pezzo, ma ci tenevo a farvi vedere alcuni dei lavoretti fatti per abbellire la casa o come regalo.
Comincio con queste tre roselline di stoffa da appuntare sul bavero del cappotto, su un cappello o come decorazione per una borsa.
Ho aiutato mia sorella a cucirle in poco più di due ore a velocità supersonica (sacchettini compresi) perché da lì a poco si sarebbe dovuta incontrare con le sue amiche che le hanno poi ricevute come regalo natalizio.
Christmas time is already passed, but anyway I want to show you some works prepared as a present or for beautify the house.
I start with these three little roses made of fabric to pin on the jacket collar, on a hat or like a decoration for a bag.
I helped my sister Elisabetta to sew they very quickly (included the little pouches), because after two hour she have had to meet her friends that received the roses as Christmas gift.
Comincio con queste tre roselline di stoffa da appuntare sul bavero del cappotto, su un cappello o come decorazione per una borsa.

Ho cucito sotto le foglie delle semplici spille da balia (in quel momento, in casa, avevo solo quelle! :-P), ma in commercio ne esistono di apposite. Come questa:
I used simply safety-pins to sew under the leaves of the roses (in that moment, at home, I had only those!) but there are also some specific pins to use for brooches. Like this:
Questo invece è lo schema che sto ricamando in questo momento. E’ il secondo di una serie sulle quattro stagioni; l’anno scorso ho finito “la primavera”, mentre questo è “l’estate”. La foto è del 7 settembre 2007 (ho iniziato il ricamo il 1° del mese).
This, instead, is the cross-stitch embroidery that I’m doing now. It’s the second of a series concerning the “four seasons”; last year I finished “the spring”, instead this is “the summer”. The photograph was made in 7 September 2007 (I started the embroidery in 1th September).
Questa foto l’ho scattata oggi. Sto ricamando la cornice, un lavoro così noiosssssso!!! Preferisco quando lo schema è complicato, con numerosi cambi di filo. Mi rilassa. Sul serio!
Conlusa la cornice il ricamo non sarà ancora finito, dovrò ricamare tutto il punto scritto!
And this photograph is of today. I am stitching the frame, such a booooooring work!!! I prefer when the pattern is very complicated, with a lot of changes of thread. It makes me relax. Really!
After the frame the embroidery will not already finished, because I have to do all the backstitch!

Benvenute!
Questa è una “costola” del mio blog principale (che tratta argomenti assai diversi da questo!), in cui potrete trovare tutti i miei lavori di sartoria - dalle gonne ai pantaloni, dalle camice alle giacche - fino alle creazioni di cucito creativo come borse, bamboline, pupazzi e accessori di tutti i tipi, insieme ai miei ricami a punto croce.
Un ringraziamento va ad Arianna che mi ha consigliato sulla scelta del nome per il blog.
Avevo inizialmente pensato di chiamarlo “Sew or not to sew”, ma provate a scriverlo nella barra degli indirizzi tutto attaccato... non è esattamente il massimo, e poi non è nemmeno molto intuitivo. Così ho optato per quello pensato da lei, “As you sew it”, che fa lo stesso un po’ il “verso” a un’opera di Shakespeare. ;-)

P.S.: prima però devo tradurre tutto il testo in inglese: ho avuto la malsana idea di rendere il blog bilingue, dato che mi è capitato spesso di vedere in siti italiani molti commenti di visitatrici straniere; sarà un modo per scambiarsi idee e progetti anche con persone molto lontane da dove viviamo noi, non trovate?

This is my second blog, the first is about books, films and art - but it’s only write in Italian.
In this blog, instead, you can find all my dress-making works: skirts, jackets, trousers, blouses and dresses that I mainly sew for my self.
Also you can find my other creations: bags, puppets, all sort of accessories and my cross-stitch embroideries.
Initially the name of this blog had to be “Sew or not to sew” but it was not so “direct”, so I chose the name that my friend Arianna suggested me: “As you sew it”, that still refers to a Shakespeare’s masterpiece. ;-)
Now I have to go to prepare the next post of this blog.
